Outreach
Discussion of ways to grow Occupy Marin and the possible need for an Occupy Marin platform. The platform idea was tabled so that conversation can continue at future General Assemblies regarding issues important to the group;
Occupy Marin will have someone on the weekly Inter Occupy conference call who will report back. Niki will be on the call this week. One or two volunteers will be needed each week;
Discussion of Board of Supervisors resolution in support of first amendment right to assemble;
Support of 12-12-11 port shutdown was extended to include a solidarity action. Materials will be prepared for a training at the 12/10 GA;
Discussion of teach-ins at the GA and what form they might take;
Media/Communication
The final draft of the Move Your Media postcard should be available at the next GA;
Facilitation
Having interesting and different actions at each GA to encourage attendance was explored further.
Proposals
Outreach Working Group
Grow Occupy Marin by assembling in different cities in Marin, once a week, for visibility and to invite people to the Saturday San Rafael GA to learn more about Occupy. Consensus
Show solidarity with Occupy Oakland and all West Coast Occupy groups by have a visible Occupy Marin presence at the port shutdown. Proposal was withdrawn by point of process as the GA had full consensus on 11/26 to stand in solidarity with this action. This then became an action announcement. Training materials and further information will be available at the next GA and on the website. Withdrawn
Facilitation Working Group
A teach-in or other action to be part of each GA to encourage more participation. The first action will be a bank march after the GA on 12/10 at approximately 2:00 pm. Consensus
Other Proposals
Prepare an Occupy Marin banner listing corporations that rely on the ports to carry during the port shutdown action on 12-12-11. Consensus
Corporate pledge of allegiance with proposed changes from working group was introduced again. Tabled for one week so a Google document can be circulated for review. To be proposed again on 12/10.
Occupy Board of Supervisors on 12/6, at 9:45, and endorsement by Occupy Marin of proposed resolution supporting first amendment right to assemble. Consensus
